TheHighCommunity ($THC) is an Algorand Standard Asset ([ASA](/glossary/algorand-standard-asset "A built-in mechanism that allows anyone to create and issue new tokens (like stablecoins, utility tokens, or NFTs) directly on Algorand's base layer, "))—a token standard on the Algorand blockchain—designed to unite cannabis enthusiasts and blockchain supporters in a shared, community-driven ecosystem. The project distinguishes itself through its distribution model: the entire 69,420,000 token supply was airdropped at 0.5% per wallet, with the creator retaining zero tokens.
From Meme to Utility Platform
What began as a community experiment has matured into a functional ecosystem. The $THC DApp, developed by community member @flippingalgos, serves as the project's operational center, offering:
- A marketplace for NFT auctions and fixed-price sales
- Liquidity provider (LP) staking, where users earn rewards for supplying token liquidity
- An NFT "Dispensary" that randomly distributes NFTs from across the Algorand ecosystem
- Cross-chain bridge integrations, with live connections to Polygon, Binance Smart Chain, and Optimism, and Solana support planned

$THC employs multiple mechanisms to reward participation. Holders with a minimum balance of 10,000 THC receive daily token drops from a dedicated drip wallet. The platform also features staking pools: a "low-tier" pool for single-token staking with no lock-up period (180-day duration) is currently active, with higher-tier pools for LP tokens planned.
The project maintains a burn wallet holding 521,699 THC and a rewards wallet to fund community initiatives. NFDomains segments for thehighcommunity.algo have been unlocked, enabling human-readable addresses.
