Cannabis ASA TheHighCommunity pushes THC to Polygon, BSC and Optimism

From 'Stay High' to a bridge hub

A visitor to TheHighCommunity¹ in August 2026 finds a homepage that reads more like a logistics page than a fan club. Cards for 'Bridged $THC' on Polygon, Binance Smart Chain and Optimism line the page, joined by a 'Solana (coming soon)' placeholder and a fifth destination still marked 'TBD.' The project behind the cards is a cannabis-themed Algorand Standard Asset (ASA) — Algorand's built-in mechanism for issuing tokens directly on the base layer — whose own tagline is 'created by stoners for everyone!'

THC (asset ID 1119722936²) carries a fixed supply of 69,420,000 units with zero decimals, created in 2023 as a gathering space for 'cannabis enthusiasts and ASA supporters' — in the project's words, 'in the midst of a bear market.' The supply figure is itself the project's sense of humor, and the same motif reappears across its features.

A dapp built for the NFT era

The hub of the project is the $THC Dapp at app.thehighcommunity.net³, which the project's archived site said was built 'by an amazing community dev.' It bundles a marketplace, auctions, a lottery, staking pools, an NFT rollup tool and a merch store:

The marketplace was not always a ghost town. The dapp's activity log records dozens of sales denominated in THC between June 2023 and July 2024 — Shitty Kitties #247 changed hands for 333,333³ THC, The Algogators #189⁴ for 250,001⁵ THC, with a long tail of 421⁶-THC single-item purchases — and the most recent recorded sale is dated July 5, 2024. The token itself still moves on Algorand: the latest real transfer, 69 THC, settled on Aug 17, 2026.

The cross-chain question

The bridge hub is the project's clearest current statement of intent. Each destination page links to its wrapped contract's block explorer and to Portal Bridge⁴, the cross-chain application built on the Wormhole messaging network — the path the project points holders toward. A bridge of this kind works by locking the original token on its home chain and minting a wrapped representation on the destination chain. Wrapped THC exists on all three networks, and a Uniswap pool for each opened within a week of the project's June 2023 launch. What they contain is the problem:

The wrappers arrived in time; the liquidity never followed. Every pool shows zero buys and zero sells in the trailing 24 hours, and the home chain is only marginally fuller: Tinyman, the Algorand DEX where THC holds a verified listing, shows about $274 in liquidity and $0.62 of volume in the past day. For a holder who bridges THC to Polygon today, that means arriving at a market where any meaningful trade would move the price drastically — if it fills at all.

Who is actually here

On-chain, the asset is configured with restraint. THC has no freeze or clawback, so the project cannot seize or freeze a holder's tokens, and although the manager and reserve keys sit with the creator account, that account holds just 211 THC. The burn address designated on the dapp page is the single largest position at 521,699 THC (0.75 percent of supply), just ahead of the largest ordinary holder at 492,866 (0.71 percent); none of the top ten holders exceeds one percent. The project also controls the thehighcommunity.algo namespace on the Algorand Name Service, Algorand's on-chain naming system: 22 segments have been minted — stoner, weed, 69 and fortheculture among them — with one listed for sale.

The community around the token is correspondingly small. The public Telegram supergroup @THCAlgorand has 24 members, and the project's last published announcements, preserved in the site's May 2026 archive, promised a second dispensary round, a community logo-design vote and a 180-day single-token stake pool with no lock-up; the live pages do not show any of the three. The one new thing the project has put forward is the bridge hub itself, with Solana marked 'coming soon.'

For all the quiet, nothing about THC reads as abandoned. The dapp still runs, the token still transfers, the burn mechanism still does its work, and the creator never took a controlling stake for itself. What is missing is use — and a front page pointed at pools that together hold about five dollars says so plainly. Whether anyone chooses to cross that bridge will determine whether TheHighCommunity's second chapter is a real story or a placeholder.
