When a Month Tripled the Node Count

Its reporting, per the same page, focuses on 'Layer-1 ecosystems, tokenization, stablecoins and payments, decentralized identity, and the companies shipping production systems.' The site is organized to match: a news section spanning Bitcoin, Solana, Hedera, XRP, and regulation; an Intelligence⁶ section for longer research-style pieces — 19 posts at last count, including the monthly ecosystem recaps it produces for several networks; and an interviews-and-podcast hub⁷ distributed across YouTube, Spotify, TikTok, and X. The site runs on WordPress.com's hosting.

The operation is formally Genfinity LLC with a Los Angeles-area footprint, and it publishes everything under the collective byline 'Generation Infinity.' The outlet discloses little about its editorial staffing: a LinkedIn search surfaces one named executive, Chief Creative Officer Valor Kopeny⁸, and no article carries an individual author byline. Its founder is Ryan Solomon⁹, who describes himself on X as founder of the outlet and 'media infrastructure for the digital assets economy,' with more than 1,000 interviews and roughly 179.7K followers. Scale claims are self-published — a Genfinity X post thanks readers for '1.5 million+ article reads across 650+ articles since Genfinity launched in 2021' — so they read as the outlet's own account of its reach, not an independently verifiable figure.

The Recap Formula: Foundation Reports, Rendered

The April 15, 2025 article — 'Algorand 2025 Ecosystem Surge: Major Upgrades, Staking Rewards & Project Highlights' — is the clearest example of Genfinity's method. It announces up front that it targets 'intermediate readers' and defines its terms as it goes: what staking is, why slashing is a risk on other chains, what total value locked (TVL, the dollar value of assets deposited into a network's DeFi protocols) measures. Where the Numbers Come From

The numbers trace cleanly to the linked sources, with quirks worth naming. The Foundation's March report put monthly active user growth at +24.6%⁷; the recap rounds that to '25%.' The Foundation's April 7 summary post¹² — embedded in the article — reads 'Algorand in March 2025: +24.6%⁸ MAUs, +26.3%⁹ stablecoin market cap, +19%¹⁰ smart contract deployments.' The recap repeats the deployment figure and adds an absolute the Foundation report itself never states: nearly 2.7 million monthly active users in March, 'the highest in over six months.' The 306 million¹¹ ALGO stake reduction and the 'almost 250%¹²' rise in mainnet nodes since November 2024 come from the Foundation's March 10 post¹³, which the article embeds. For a reader who clicks through, every headline figure is traceable to its primary source; for one who does not, the recap's numbers are the Foundation's numbers, relayed.

The recap has also begun circulating as a secondary source: an October 2025 piece on ainvest.com¹⁴ attributes the 19%¹³ deployment figure and the 2.7 million MAU level to 'the Genfinity overview' — the recap now stands in for the Foundation's own reporting in parts of the wider crypto press.

Two corroboration notes on that table. Lofty's $50 entry point is confirmed by Algorand's own Lofty case study¹⁵. The outlet's relationship with the ecosystem it covers is close, and it is worth stating plainly once. The Foundation's own reports treat Genfinity as part of its media orbit: the January 2025 insights report lists CTO John Woods' appearance on 'Generation Infinity' — the name under which Genfinity still publishes — under 'Algorand in the news,' and the March 2025 report notes that Pera Wallet's Joseph Cecala 'was on the Genfinity podcast.' None of this makes the recaps inaccurate — every headline number is linked to a primary source — but the perspective is the ecosystem's own: the metrics are Foundation metrics, the announcements are relayed, and readers get aggregation and accessibility rather than adversarial scrutiny.

What the Recaps Are Good For

For an intermediate reader — the audience the outlet names — the series is genuinely useful. It compresses a quarter of scattered announcements into a single chronological read, explains the concepts a newcomer needs, and never hides its sources: the recap links the same Foundation reports a skeptical reader would open anyway. The tradeoff described above — access and aggregation in exchange for independence — is the other side of that convenience.
