BrainChain Migrates from Vercel to brain-chain.app
Domain Migration Completed
BrainChain, the decentralized marketplace for EEG data, has migrated from its temporary Vercel subdomain (brain-chain-one.vercel.app) to the dedicated domain brain-chain.app. The new domain was registered on April 13, 2026, with infrastructure updates continuing through April 25, 2026, marking a deliberate shift from development to production-ready infrastructure.
Platform Maturity and Current Limitations
While the domain change represents a significant step forward, BrainChain remains in BETA and operates exclusively on Algorand Testnet. All USDC on the platform is simulated and holds no monetary value. The platform continues to warn users against uploading real EEG data, citing unresolved GDPR compliance and data protection concerns. Only synthetic or anonymized test data is permitted during this beta period.
The core marketplace mechanics remain unchanged: researchers post requests with specific EEG data requirements and budgets, contributors submit encrypted datasets via IPFS, and smart contract escrow ensures payment is released only upon verification and acceptance. Contributors retain 90% of earnings, with a 10% marketplace fee.
Technical Integration In Progress
The platform’s Marketplace page currently displays a "Network Error" message, referencing a non-functional API endpoint at http://localhost:3001. This indicates that the backend service migration to the new domain is not yet complete, and some technical integration work remains to be addressed.
