Participation keys

A separate key pair an Algorand account generates to take part in consensus (voting on and proposing blocks). The account's spending keys (seed phrase) are only needed once, to register the account online; the participation keys can then be handed to a node without risking the account's funds, and must be renewed periodically before they expire.
