Parimutuel market
A betting structure in which all stakes on both sides of a market go into one shared pool, and when the market closes the winning side splits the pool in proportion to each winner's contribution. The operator's fee is deducted at entry rather than from a spread, and payouts do not depend on matching individual orders the way an order book does.
